SHAH ALAM - Entrepreneur and social media influencer Ridzuan Ridzokumura, has shared the devastating chronology of events leading to the discovery of his wife, Akiko Okumura, who tragically fell from their condominium and lost her life.

In an emotional TikTok live session last night, Ridzuan, whose real name is Abdul Ridzuan Abdul Mutalib, 50, opened up about the devastating moment he discovered his wife after her fatal fall.

With raw honesty, he recounted the events leading up to the tragedy, giving followers a glimpse into his grief and loss.

"That night, I was trying to put Sky (his son) to sleep around 11pm or midnight. Not long after, he fell asleep, but I stayed awake. Around 1 or 2am, I heard a loud noise outside, like something had fallen.

“Since our house is beside the highway, I usually call Akiko and Sky to check together whenever we hear something unusual. But that night, for some reason, I did not. I was exhausted and just went to sleep,” he said.

The next morning, Ridzuan woke up as usual but sensed something was amiss. As he waited for his son to get ready, Sky mentioned that he could not find his brief.

It was unlike Akiko—she always had everything prepared, from their clothes to breakfast—but that day, nothing was set.

The absence of her usual routine felt unsettling. When he walked to the dining table and saw no breakfast, a deep unease settled in.

His worry intensified when he noticed the window in the next room wide open.

"My heart dropped. The window frame was damaged (even before the incident). I turned to Sky and asked, 'Where is your mommy!?' He thought she might have gone out for groceries but I told him she would not go out so early in the morning.

“I felt uneasy and ran out of the room. From that room, I could not see below, so I rushed to the main toilet, climbed up and looked down. That is when I saw her. My wife had fallen,” he said.

Ridzuan was consumed by shock and panic, his thoughts spiralling into chaos, making it impossible to think clearly.

“I screamed for Sky and told him we needed to get downstairs immediately. When I reached her, she was lying there on the ground. I kept shaking her, trying to wake her up, but she did not move.

“Thankfully, she had fallen onto soil, not concrete,” he said.

On his way down, Ridzuan met the security guards and asked for help. He told them to call the police and ambulance.

“I did not move her much because I was afraid she might still be alive or had broken bones and I did not want to make things worse. Then I ran back upstairs with Sky to grab a towel. She was still in her sleeping clothes, so I covered her with it (towel).

"Then, the ambulance arrived first, followed by the police," he recounted, concluding the harrowing experience.

Ridzuan added that Akiko might have slipped from the window while cleaning, as such activities had become her routine, especially every time she prepared for the fasting month.

"I think Akiko slipped; there's no way she would jump (from the condominium) or anything like that. Akiko loved herself very much... I don’t know because I wasn’t in the room. What I do know is that on Friday morning, I saw that she had already fallen.

"I hope everyone understands and stops making unnecessary assumptions. Everyone already knows what happened to her.

"Her journey was beautiful—she passed away on a Friday, just before Ramadan. To me, she went straight to paradise. Akiko never did any harm to anyone," he said.

Akiko, passed away on Feb 28, a day after their son’s 13th birthday.

He shared the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing his grief over the loss of his wife.

The news shocked many of his followers, as Akiko had appeared in a live broadcast just the night before.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussien Omar Khan said police ruled out any foul play, classifying the case as sudden death (SDR).

Despite this, authorities assured that the investigation would be conducted thoroughly, with all possibilities considered, including whether it was an act by the victim herself.

The Japanese embassy and Akiko’s family were informed of the incident and police urged the public to avoid making negative speculations without verified information. Ridzuan was also called in to assist with the investigation.

The case remained under review, with authorities committed to examining all aspects before reaching a final conclusion.
