Eight suspects and five cars involved in Pamela’s abduction, says KL police chief

KUALA LUMPUR: At least eight suspects and five cars were involved in the abduction of Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh on April 9.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said CCTV footage showed three cars intercepted the e-hailing car transporting Ling on the day of the incident, while two other cars were nearby as a lookout.
"We believe at least eight suspects were involved in the abduction.
"We managed to track the suspects' movements in Putrajaya through various CCTV cameras after the victim was taken.
"They used two different routes and we are investigating further where they went after leaving Putrajaya," he told reporters at the KL police headquarters on Thursday (May 8).
Rusdi said at least three of the cars involved used cloned registration numbers.
On April 9, Ling was summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist with an investigation under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
However, she reportedly went missing while on her way to the appointment. Her lawyer lodged a police report regarding her disappearance on the same day.
As of Sunday (May 4), no ransom demand had been made in connection with her disappearance.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain previously said Ling's husband was among those who could be a suspect in her disappearance.
"For now, the possibilities are along those lines, and perhaps others are involved as well.
"We have recorded the statements of over 16 people, including the husband.
"We will also record the statements of their children who are based in Singapore. We have not identified a motive," he said. - THE STAR
