TELUK INTAN – A Hindu devotee shared a heart-wrenching sentiment, reflecting on how she and others had just completed their religious duties in a safe and peaceful environment, thanks to the sacrifices made by the officers, only to realise that it would be their last night.

The tragic accident, which involved a Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) vehicle on Jalan Chikus, Sungai Lampam, Teluk Intan, claimed the lives of at least nine security personnel.

In a Facebook post, Lishalinee extended her condolences to the families of the victims, describing the incident as a dark chapter in the history of Perak.

"We had just completed our religious duties in a safe and peaceful environment thanks to their sacrifices, but little did we know that it would be their last night.

“Thank you to the officers who supervised the Hindu festival so diligently. We are deeply indebted to them all.

“My condolences to everyone who lost their husband, brother, son, or father. May everyone find the strength to endure this trial,” she wrote.

Earlier, Sinar reported that an FRU vehicle had collided with a stone-laden lorry, resulting in the deaths of nine FRU personnel at around 8.30am.

Nine others were injured and rushed to Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.

Lishalinee also expressed her difficulty in imagining the grief endured by the victims' families, especially since the officers had just completed their security operation for Ops Chariot in Teluk Intan.

“As a Hindu devotee, I pray for the souls of all the fallen members. This is not about race or religion; it’s about humanity and sacrifice,” she said.
