SHAH ALAM – Police are investigating reports of loud explosion-like sounds heard near Shah Alam Stadium on Tuesday.

Shah Alam district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said officers were sent to inspect the parking areas around the stadium following complaints from the public.

“The officers also spoke to food stall operators in the area, who reported that individuals were setting off firecrackers, causing explosions in the air near the Ramadan bazaar,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

However, no suspicious individuals were found after conducting inspections at the site.

Iqbal also called on anyone with more information about the incident to come forward and report it to the nearest police station for further investigation.

Witnesses reported hearing the noises around 11pm and in the early morning hours.
