Kuantan's MyKiosk stalls struggle to attract traders, customers
A recent survey by Sinar at various MyKiosk sites in the area revealed that only a handful of stalls were operational in the afternoon, with most units remaining vacant.

KUANTAN – Despite handing keys to traders, several MyKiosk sites in the district remain quiet, highlighting the need for all selected traders to actively participate in reviving these business locations.
A recent survey by Sinar at various MyKiosk sites in the area revealed that only a handful of stalls were operational in the afternoon, with most units remaining vacant.
Most active stalls were run by long-time traders from the MyKiosk 1.0 initiative.
Faizatul Akma Fauzi, 34, a trader at Balok who received a MyKiosk 2.0 stall, shared that she had received her keys last week.
According to Faizatul, she was informed that only two traders had started operating their MyKiosk stalls.
She expressed hope that her venture would proceed smoothly.
“Insya-Allah, I plan to start on Tuesday, although I’m a little concerned about the lack of customers.
"I hope other traders who’ve received their keys will begin operating soon, so we can bring life to the business area,” said Faizatul, who sells Korean food.
Meanwhile, Aidel Salleh, 40, a chocolate beverage trader at the MyKiosk site in Taman Tasik Pelindung, pointed out that only a few new traders, like himself, had started operating, while others had yet to open their stalls.
“The first few days have been challenging due to the lack of visitors.
"I hope the local authorities can support traders by launching promotional efforts to boost the MyKiosk programme," he said.
Meanwhile, a survey at the Pantai Tembeling area, which houses 14 MyKiosk units, found that this location is one of the more popular spots among visitors.
Ahmad Fakhrul Hakim Zolkifly, 28, a trader in the area, explained that most of the traders there are long-time operators, some of whom have been in business since last year.
“Today is quieter than usual because many traders are on leave, and some open later in the day,” he said.
