Malaysia Aviation Group becomes first airline in the country to receive ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Certification
MAG Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail said the achievement reflected the company’s top-down approach to integrity and ethical governance.

SHAH ALAM – Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has officially secured the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) certification, making it the first airline group in Malaysia to attain this internationally recognised standard.
The certification highlights MAG’s uncompromising commitment to operating with the highest integrity and marks a key milestone in fulfilling its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.
MAG Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail said the achievement reflected the company’s top-down approach to integrity and ethical governance.
He emphasised that an effective anti-bribery system must be driven from the top.
“This certification is not just a formality; it is a firm declaration of our zero-tolerance stance against bribery, fraud and corruption.
“ISO 37001 reinforces the controls we have built into every part of our operations, from procurement and policymaking to how we engage with partners, whether in Malaysia or at our international offices.

“This certification clearly signals our commitment to conducting business with the highest standards of integrity, and our accountability in addressing any instances of non-compliance promptly.
“Trust and governance are not optional; they are the foundation of a sustainable aviation business and this milestone reaffirms our leadership in that space,” he said.
The journey towards ISO 37001 certification involved active support from MAG’s Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee.
It included a comprehensive corruption risk assessment, the establishment of a dedicated Working Group Committee and the development of a structured ABMS framework.
To ensure internal alignment, MAG implemented 16 training sessions, workshops and awareness campaigns across its key business functions, embedding the principles of transparency and integrity into the organisation’s culture.
The certification currently covers MAG’s Group-level functions, particularly in the areas of governance, risk, compliance, sustainability and leadership.
Controls have been established to mitigate bribery risks across high-impact domains such as procurement, vendor management and third-party engagement.
MAG has also committed to a transparent and responsive corporate environment by operating a publicly accessible whistleblowing platform, ensuring a safe and confidential avenue for reporting misconduct.
Internally, its Group Business Integrity unit currently houses two Certified Integrity Officers (CeIOs), with plans underway to certify additional personnel across departments to maintain and expand the ABMS framework.
Looking ahead, MAG aims to progressively extend the scope of ISO 37001 certification to other business entities under its umbrella.
This expansion is part of the Group’s long-term goal to create a business ecosystem rooted in ethical conduct, accountability and sustainable practices.
