Selangor exco Jamaliah Jamaluddin ties the knot
The decision to hold a small-scale ceremony was made out of respect for the wishes of both families, who preferred a wedding more focused on the meaning and blessings of the union itself.

SHAH ALAM – Selangor Public Health and Environment Committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin is now officially married following a private wedding ceremony held on Sunday.
The announcement was made by the Bandar Utama assemblywoman herself, who chose to tie the knot with her partner, Joshua, in an intimate setting attended by close family members and a few longtime friends who have known the couple since their school days.
Jamaliah said the decision to hold a small-scale ceremony was made out of respect for the wishes of both families, who preferred a wedding more focused on the meaning and blessings of the union itself.
"Alhamdulillah, my partner and I were officially married yesterday.
"I apologise if anyone feels hurt. Please believe this was a carefully considered decision made with full respect for everyone who has supported us all this time,” she shared in a Facebook post on Monday.
She added that the ceremony was also witnessed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and several prominent political figures, including Puchong Member of Parliament Yeo Bee Yin, who was once her superior and had also mentored her husband during his internship.
Jamaliah also hinted that there might be future opportunities to celebrate the joyous occasion more openly and festively with friends and acquaintances.

“For now, I kindly ask for everyone’s prayers that Allah SWT blesses this marriage with sakinah (tranquillity), mawaddah (affection) and rahmah (mercy).
"Please pray for us to navigate this journey of marriage well, lastingly and always under His grace,” she said.
